Welcome to Class 4DL
Homework
Homework topic cover sheets are now sent out at the start of each new Learning Challenge.
The children can then choose one activity to complete each week from the cover sheet. Please date this as it is completed.
A separate sheet will also be provided with the spellings that need to be learned. Spellings are taken from the statutory spelling list for Year 3 and 4 This indicates which spellings the children will be focusing on each week.
For Maths we are asking the children to go onto TT Rockstars at least twice a week.
Reading
In Years 3 and 4 we expect the children to be reading a minimum of 4 times per week and recorded in their reading diaries.
Reading diaries need to be in school daily.
Children should complete Reading Plus as part of their reading; please record this in the reading diaries.
Physical Education
During the Autumn term, children in Class 4 will have an indoor PE session on Monday afternoon.
An Outdoor PE session will also take place on a Thursday afternoon.
Please ensure your child has a full kit, labelled with their names, in school at all times as PE may change as a result of weather.

With many of us staying at home, it’s essential that we try to keep our minds and our bodies as active as possible.
Joe Wicks will be streaming PE lessons on his Youtube channel for children (and adults can join in too!) every weekday morning starting Monday 23rd March at 9am.
What better way to start your day?
Starting Monday 23rd March, Gareth Metcalfe, a leading practitioner in primary mathematics education, will be posting daily lessons (Monday-Friday) to aid your child with their learning of mathematics whilst at home.
This is not compulsory, but may help those children and parents who are struggling for ideas, or need someone to talk them through the steps of more complex mathematics.
At 9am each morning, a video will be posted on his blog: http://www.iseemaths.com/home-lessons/
Please watch this video, where Gareth will introduce himself and you can find out about what these lessons will entail.
Class 4 had a superb morning at the Totally Wicked Stadium – thank you to everyone for looking after us.

We went outside into our very own ‘forest’ to imagine how Lucy would feel.
We had great fun dancing like ballerinas to find different words to describe how a snowflake falls!
