Welcome to C9SH – Year 5/6
Miss Hampton, Mrs Doyle & Mrs Vaughan
Please scroll to the blog posts below to see the home learning tasks to be completed between 23.3.20 and 3.4.20. This blog will be updated every morning at 8.30am with your new tasks for the day.
Hello and welcome back to the Spring term at Carr Mill Primary and C9SH.
Homework and reading expectations
Every week, children should read at home at least 4 times and have this recorded in their reading records (one of these sessions should be Reading Plus). Reading records will be checked on a Monday. The children should record what they have read, and then write 2 sentences about this. All entries will need to be signed by an adult.
Homework is given out at the beginning of each new learning challenge. A topic sheet with several homework activities will be stuck in the home learning journal.
Each week the children can choose one activity they prefer to do in their journal and hand this in as normal. There will also be a spelling sheet sent home; this indicates which spellings the children will be focusing on each week. For maths we are asking the children to go onto TTRockstars. The expectation is 10 minutes per week on the games. Completion of all of these elements will count towards Track it Light points.
Key information
PE sessions for Class 9 are Tuesday afternoon (outdoor) and Friday morning (indoor). Please ensure that the children have the correct PE kit in school. For indoor PE, this is black shorts, a white t-shirt and black pumps. For outdoor PE, children will need plain jogging bottoms, a plain jumper and trainers.
Special request
Please ensure that your child brings a labelled water bottle to school every day and that all their uniform and PE kit has their name in. This makes it easier for us and the children to find their belongings.
Thank you for your continued support, Miss Hampton.
