Hello and welcome back to the Spring term at
Carr Mill Primary and C8AW.
PE: P.E. sessions will be taught on Tuesday and Thursday each week.
Thursday will be an outdoor lesson which will require an outdoor PE kit. Please ensure that the children have the correct PE kit in school (black jogging bottoms, white T-shirt, sweatshirt and trainers).
Homework: This is sent home on a topic overview, which will be for a
number of weeks to match the topic the children are studying, each week the children should choose one activity to complete . In addition to this, spelling practice should be done weekly: focus spelling rules and Y5/6 words. These are listed on the spelling map which is stuck into
homework books. We will also send home some basic arithmetic to complete each week.
Reading diaries: These will be checked every Monday morning to ensure that the children have read a minimum of 4 times. The children can
record what they have read, and then write 2 sentences about this. All entries will need to be signed by an adult.
Reminders: Please ensure that your child brings a labelled water bottle to school every day.

150 Years of St Helens Celebration
St Helens is celebrating it’s 150th birthday this year. We have joined a group of St Helens schools to create an art gallery in the town centre celebrating our town.
Artist Dave Bixter worked with a group of children in school to produce some stunning collaborative art work.
The children learned new drawing and sketching techniques such as continuous line drawing and using a pin hole viewfinder to look very closely at what they are drawing.
The artwork is currently being displayed in St Helens town centre in the shop windows along Church Street and inside Parish Church. Please take the time to visit and have a look!
Well done to those children whose work is exhibited, the results of your work are outstanding!

Here is the homework for classes 7, 8 and 9 for Autumn 2 term. This will run from 2.11.18 until Christmas.
