This week, we brought our Shakespeare Festival to an end with an amazing celebration of the performance arts. Each class used an aspect of performance art to share the Shakespeare play that they had been studying. From dancing and singing to acting the children put on a fantastic show for their parents.
Afterwards, parents were invited back to class to view the amazing artwork produced by the children inspired by their Shakespeare play. We even made some delicious food to share!
Nursery made peg doll fairies and flower headbands, whilst Reception made beautiful dream catchers to symbolise A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Years 1 and 2 created the ocean with clay boats and sea creatures to represent The Tempest. Years 3 and 4 designed new book covers that charcterised Othello and Years 5 and 6 used paper mache to recreate Macbeth’s crown.
