The Mystery of the Giant Egg!
Date: 16/09/2019

Well we were so surprised this morning when we found a giant egg in our playground.
The children were full of questions:
-
What’s inside it?
-
Where did it come from?
-
How did it get here?
We noticed some clues. We found two large footprints, blue feathers and a large green leaf.
The children made some suggestions about what could be in the egg.
“It’s a baby”, “a dinosaur”, “a parrot”, “a dragon”, “an ostrich” etc…
It was still a mystery!
The children decided they would search for more clues all around the playground. We found apples that had been eaten and a branch with no leaves so we believe it is a herbivore. Some children found tracks that looked like they had been made with three claws.
Everyone drew their ideas on some paper. Some of the children knew about having to keep eggs warm and suggested we bring it inside. They spent this afternoon collecting twigs, leaves and feathers to make a cosy nest.

Owl Babies

The Mystery of the Giant Egg!
