Jewellery (including earrings/studs), decoration and other accessory items
Earrings/Studs
No jewellery is allowed in school. This includes earrings and studs that must be removed.
No tattoos, nail varnish or make-up are to be worn in school.
We ask that any new piercings should be done at the start of the summer holidays to allow for the earrings/studs to be removed when starting the year in September.
Hair
Hair styles should be kept simple and appropriate for school. ‘Razored’ or ‘Tram Line’ styles are not appropriate, along with coloured hair of any kind.
Longer hair should be tied up at all times with hair accessories (either in black or school colours). As a general rule, if it can go into a bobble it should.
Bags
Due to limitations of storage space, large bags should not be brought into school. Children are strongly encouraged to have a reading bag.
Watches
Children are able to wear a simple analogue or digital watch however, smart watches/ fit bits and any watches that have Wi-Fi or similar capabilities will not be allowed and will need to be treated as a mobile phone.

Lost Property
Lost Property Procedures
Naming clothing and property
It is vital that all clothing and property is clearly marked and labelled so that it can be easily traced and returned. Carr Mill Primary school cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to child’s property/ valuables.
Lost Property
Any lost property found in the hall or at the end of playtime/ dinnertime will be placed on a trolley for children to collect on that day. After that it will be placed in tub outside the disabled toilet in the main entrance so please check there before contacting the office/ teacher. Lost property will be disposed of at the end of each half term so please check when we send out reminders. We will endeavour to return all named property but if items do not have names in we are unable to do so.
Pre Loved Uniform
At the main entrance to the side of the disabled toilet as well as lost property we also have a preloved uniform bank. We have many coats and shoes available as well as jumpers/ shirts/ pants/ skirts and summer dresses. If you cannot find the size you need please contact the office or the pastoral team as we may have supplementary clothing that has not been replenished.School can support you to access pre-loved uniform, if needed, via our own uniform bank or the one operated by Park Farm. The uniform bank is located at near the toilet in the main entrance. Please help yourself or contact the school office on 01744 678223.
If you have any school uniform to donate please only send in uniform- cardigans/ jumpers/ shirts/ pants/ plain hoodies/ jogging bottoms/ shorts/ white polos/ skirts/ piniafores and black shoes that can be worn again and not brnded items. If you have any spare clothes for nursery children pelase pass these directly to them.
