Mental Health and Wellbeing
At Carr Mill, we want our children to become the best versions of themselves; academically, socially and morally as they grow into the next generation of our community.
The mental health of #teamcarrmill is of the upmost importance, and we strive to ensure that all members have access to the support and strategies they need to develop the skills needed to recognise and be mindful of their wellbeing.
TES Award for Pupil Mental Health Initiative of the Year 2025
We are incredibly proud that Carr Mill Primary School was recognised as Pupil Mental Health Initiative of the Year at the TES Schools Awards in June 2025.
This award celebrates our whole-school commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our children and families. Over recent years, we have developed a strong network of support within our school community, including pastoral care, family support, learning mentoring and targeted wellbeing programmes.
Our approach is built on positive relationships, early intervention and ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive. Through initiatives such as pupil leadership opportunities, social and emotional learning programmes, family engagement and bespoke pastoral support, we work hard to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes for all children.
This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our staff, pupils, families and wider community, who work together every day to make Carr Mill a place where everyone feels safe, supported and successful.
Gold Standard Mental Health Award
We were delighted to be awarded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools ‘School Mental Health Award’ at GOLD level in Dec 2024 to celebrate the outstanding whole school commitment to the mental health and wellbeing to all members of #teamcarrmill.
