Nursery Class
Welcome to #teamcarrmill
We are so very pleased that your child will be coming to join our Nursery Class. We are very excited to welcome you to Carr Mill Primary School and would like to thank you for choosing us to shape your child’s future.
Our Class Teacher is Miss Prendergast and our learning assistant is Miss Lewis.
We are very excited to get to know our September 2025 children and are lucky enough to have had some of the children for our N2 class join us in January and April.
Please check out our class page for more information about what life in Nursery looks like and check out our weekly blogs.
Nursery Class Welcome Meeting
We will be holding welcome meeting for parents to give you a chance to come into school, meet some of the key members of staff and learn all about our daily routines.
Details of the meeting will be updated shortly.
Home Visits
To ensure that we can get to know your child well we will be completing home visits in July. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and let us know anything you feel necessary. We use this as an opportunity to find out about your child's interests which we use to inform planning for September. This will help us to support your child's transition to school. Details of the home visits will be given out at the Welcome meeting.
Stay and Play Visit
In July, we will be having our new Nursery children to a ‘stay and play session’ giving them chance to explore their new classroom and meet their new teacher. During your stay and play session you will be given information about your child’s first days at school in September, including the days and times of their initial visits.
The time of your stay and play session will be given out during the welcome meeting.
September 2025
#teamcarrmill return to school in September for the Autumn Term on Tuesday 2/9/25. Our Nursery class build up their time spent in school across the first week to ensure a smooth transition to school.
*A detailed overview of your child's individualised September transition, including arrival and pick up times, will be provided when you attend school for the Stay and Play session.
We recognise that some children may find their first weeks of school harder than others. If we feel that your child would benefit from an extended gradual transition, we will arrange this with you on an individual basis.
