Beech Class, 06.06.25, wk 1

Date: 4th Jun 2025 @ 12:18pm

This week has been so exciting in school - we started our OPAL project. The children played in the new, redeveloped areas of the playground and had so much fun!! Have a look at the attached photos.

In maths this week we have continued with our topic about telling the time. Ask your children what time it is and see if they know!! We have focused upon o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to the hour and also looked at 5 minutes to and past the hour.

In English we have revisited lots of grammar terms and focussed particularly on adding suffixes to a root word.

In computing we talked about how to know when the time is right to come off technology. How we might feel if we are in the middle of a game and someone asks us to come off it. We practised 'pause, breathe and finish up' to help us to do this.

History has also been an exciting topic to learn this week. We started the new topic of The Great Fire of London! We have already learnt lots of interesting facts about time in 1666 at Pudding Lane.

VIP this week was awarded for writing. The Writing Champion in Beech Class this week was Freddy. Well done!

Over the next few weeks we will be practising for our class assembly on Friday 27th June. Please look out for your child bringing home some lines to learn and songs to practise. Thank you.
