Beech Class, 09.05.25, wk 3
Date: 7th May 2025 @ 11:25am
This week in Beech class we have finished our geography topic - Magical Mapping. We have looked at the comparison between aerial views and ground level views of significant places in our country. We have also recapped on learning the continents and oceans in our world. We had lots of fun singing the songs to remember them all!
In English we have focussed upon the Julia Donaldson book 'Snail and the Whale' and written some wonderful setting descriptions. We explored homophones and used these in our writing and used our senses to think about the seaside.
We had lots of fun with our practical apparatus in maths, using our base 10 materials to support our addition and subtraction calculations.
We have started a new science topic this week - Plants. We planted some seeds and we know what we need to do to help them to grow. We will be monitoring them closely over the next few weeks.
On Wednesday, the Green House team enjoyed a 'fun on the field' session because they were the winners of the 'In the Win' challenge last half term. Well done to Green Team!
On Thursday, we celebrated VE Day in school. We held a minute silence at 11 am, had a celebration lunch, dressed in red, white and blue and completed activities in class.
Our VIP winner this week was Olivia J for planning a route around the local area and presenting it clearly to the class. Well done!
