Chestnut Class Summer 1 Week 1

This week we have been reading Owl Babies in class and completing lots of speaking and listening activities about the story. The children have been sequencing the retelling the story. Next week, we will be completing some writing activities about the story. 

In Maths, our Year 1 children have started their Multiplication and Division unit of work. They have been learning how to count in steps of 2 and 10 so far. Next week they will be learning how to count in steps of 5. Please support your children to do this at home too. 

Our Reception children have been completing their learning about the numbers 9 and 10. 

In Computing, we used Code Studio to control an on screen animation using lines of code. The children also had to look for errors in lines of code and debug these in order to make the code work. 

Next week, we will be starting a new topic in Geography: Magical Mapping. 

Reminders: 

Children need to bring their water bottles and book bags to school daily. 
P.E. days during Summer 1 are Mondays and Wednesdays.
