Chestnut Week 2

Date: 2nd May 2025 @ 4:37pm

This week we started a new geography topic - Magical Mapping! The children created their own sketch maps using a key to identify specific places of interest. They explored different types of maps and planned routes around our local area.

In English we have continued with our book 'Owl Babies'. We have written some brilliant pieces in our Star Write books retelling the story using descriptive language.

In maths, Reception have been learning about numbers up to 20, and beyond. Year 1 have continued their Multiplication and Division topic.

Computing lessons were lots of fun this week when we used our code to program the BeeBots and make them move in a particular direction.

We had a whole school party on Friday afternoon because we beat our whole school attendance target of 96% last week.

Next week we will be celebrating the 80th Anniversay of VE Day by wearing red, white and blue on Thursday 8th May. Keep checking the school Facebook page next week for other special ways we have been preparing the celebrate VE Day.
