Chestnut Week 3

Date: 13th Mar 2025 @ 10:20pm

We had such a lovely time at Blackpool Zoo on Tuesday this week. We saw lots of animals. Our favourites were the sealions and the otters! It was feeding time for the otters as we arrived at their habitat and it was lovely to watch them diving into the water for their lunch. We also got a really good view of the lions, tigers and elephants whilst we were there.

Throughout the rest of the week, we have completed our History and English topic on Castles. We have learnt a lot about Castles, Kings and Queens over the last few weeks. Our text in English next week will be Supertato, and we are looking forward to reading that.

In Maths, Year 1 have been completing their Place Value to 50 unit of work. Next week, Reception and Year 1 will be learning all about Length and Height.

On Friday 21st March it is our class assembly and it would be lovely if you could join us in the hall at 9am for our celebration morning and then come and complete some fun activities with us back in our classroom afterwards. The children have been busy learning their lines this week, if you could help them with this over the weekend that would be such a huge help!

We have had some exciting news about attendance in assembly today. We have a two-week challenge to complete were the class with the highest attendance each day will earn a prize. We are hoping for some lovely treats!

Next week is DT week. We will be designing, tasting and creating fruit kebabs.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Sims
