This week we celebrated the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. On Thursday we wore red, white and blue. All children in school painted a poppy using recycled coffee cups lids which have been put on the display at the front of school.
In English, we have started to read our new text, The Snail and the Whale. We have been writing lots of descriptive sentences using the book to help us. We have been trying to use suffixes 'er' and 'est in our writing.
In Maths, Reception have continued to learn about numbers up to 20 and beyond. Whilst Year 1 have completed their topic on Multiplication and Division. Next week, Year 1 will start their topic on Fractions.
In Science, we have started a brand new topic on Plants. We have been learning about what plants need to survive; water, light and a suitable temperature. We discussed scenarios in which plants would grow healthily and unhealthily.
