ROWAN CLASS - SUMMER 1 WEEK 1
Date: 24th Apr 2025 @ 11:43am
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
As we enter Summer term now, Rowan class have been thinking carefully about getting ready for Y6!
This week, we have been focusing on the Galapagos Islands and the Galapagos Flying Lizard in our reading and writing lessons. We have all been very intrigued to try and imagine what one looks like and have been really invested in the process and time that it took explorers. This has linked in well with our previous Science topic on Evolution and Inheritance. Next week, we will be creating our own field log from the perspective of Charles Darwin!
In Maths, we have started our new topic of Decimals and Percentages. We are becoming really confident now on identifying which digit belongs in which place value column using decimals. It is lovely to see those light-bulb moments!
We have enjoyed PE outdoors this week on the field with Coach Olivia too.
In our French lessons this week, we have focused on the names of places within the city such as the library, the hospital, the café! We realllllly enjoyed playing a French game of monopoly in which we had to say the French version of the word in order to take over the square! We worked really well as a team too!
Next week, we have got super exciting things to look forward to such as: more research in to the Galapagos Islands and the start of our after school clubs!
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the pictures shared 😊
