ROWAN - FINAL BLOG WEEK 6
Date: 11th Jul 2025 @ 8:39am
Hello everyone! 😊
Transition Week has been in full swing, and it’s been so lovely watching the class begin to spread their wings and get ready for the next step on their journey.
The children have had the chance to spend time in their new classrooms, meet their new teachers and start getting to know the friends they’ll be with in September. There’s been a real mix of excitement, nerves, and lots of curious questions – but overall, they’ve taken it all in their stride, and we’re so proud of how maturely they’ve approached the change.
Back in our current classroom, we’re keeping things ticking along and making the most of our last few weeks together. In Maths, we’ve been continuing with our work on decimals, this week focusing on adding and subtracting numbers with different decimal places. Tricky stuff – but the children have been absolute stars at tackling the challenge, showing great perseverance and accuracy.
In English, we’ve been wrapping up our writing on the British Empire, and it’s been fascinating to read the children’s final pieces. They’ve worked so hard to include historical detail, thoughtful reflections and some fantastic vocabulary. It’s been a joy to see how much their writing has developed!
We’ve also been enjoying our music lessons, which continue to be a highlight of the week. There’s something really special about hearing the class singing or playing instruments together – a lovely reminder of their creativity and teamwork.
Now, looking ahead to next week… it’s set to be an incredibly exciting one! 🎉
- On Tuesday, our fabulous Year 6s will be doing their dress rehearsal for the end-of-year performance – we can’t wait to see all their hard work come together!
- On Wednesday, it’s our big trip to Carmillbury, which promises to be a brilliant day out (fingers crossed for good weather 🌞).
- Friday morning will be our Leavers’ Assembly, which I know will be a very special (and probably emotional!) time for us all.
- And then to finish the week, we’ll be having our end-of-year party on the field on Friday afternoon – a lovely way to celebrate everything we’ve achieved this year before we head off for the summer holidays!
Thank you, as always, for all your continued support. It really means the world, especially at this time of year when everything is moving so quickly.
