ROWAN - SUMMER 1 WEEK 2
Date: 1st May 2025 @ 2:13pm
Welcome back to our weekly blog! This term is flying by.
In our reading and writing this week, we have continued with our topic of Charles Darwin and the Galapagos Island and we have created some wonderful flying lizards using evidence we have found from the text. It was interesting to see how we all interpretated language.
In Maths this week, we have been continuing our topic of Decimals and percentages and are becoming much more confident at identify tenths, hundredths and thousandths and finding their equivalent decimal or fraction!
This week we have also had some fun in Geography when we looked at time zones and what their significance is and how they help us locate certain places. We also compared our time zone to other time zones around the world.
In our computing lessons this week, we have focused on E-Safety and cyber-bullying. This is a really important topic and something we all need to know. We know lots of different strategies to do should we find ourselves or somebody else in this position! Our VIP this week for computing was Jacob – well done Jacob!
Finally… this week we were visited by a hedgehog that got stuck in the drains on our playground!!!!! Luckily, we were visited by the RSPCA who helped us to rescue the hedgehog which has now been released back in to the wild!
Next week we have a red, white and blue day on Thursday to celebrate VE day so come to school dressed in those colours. Remember it is bank holiday on Monday so enjoy a relaxing day at home!
Have a wonderful weekend! 😊
