Larch: Spring 2, week 2, by Mr Pattinson

Date: 6th Mar 2026 @ 4:05pm

Well done on a lovely week, Larch class! We have continued to read 'Holes' and written a survival guide for how to spend time at the infamous Camp Green Lake. In Maths, we have begun our topic on algebra and started to look at writing expressions. In History, we have started our work on The Mayans and explored their way of life, culture and religious beliefs.

World Book Day was fabulous and you all looked incredible in your costumes. Well done for the amazing effort! We designed an alternative cover of our favourite books and created a 3D display of one of our favourites from this year, Michael Morpurgo's Kensuke's Kingdom. We also shared our work with Birch class, who had created an awesome version of The Gruffalo!

Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday :)

Larch: Spring 2, week 1, by Mr Pattinson

Date: 27th Feb 2026 @ 4:36pm

Hello everyone,

Well done for all your hard work during our first week back. This week, we began the book 'Holes' in our Reading and Writing lessons. In Maths, we have looked at short and long division (using the 'bus stop' and 'chunking' methods) and, in Science, we have investigated soluble and insoluble materials. We enjoyed a class experiment where we mixed a number of different materials such as sand, salt, coffee granules and sugar into water.

A huge well done to Emma and Jad- your excellent application of spelling rules earned you both the Writing Champion award today. Fantastic! It was also great to be back playing the bass in singing assembly - I hope you all enjoyed listening to Queen as you entered the hall.

Have a lovely weekend and I will see you next week!
