Beech Class 05.06.26
Date: 2nd Jun 2026 @ 11:30am
Beech Class have made a fantastic start to their last half term of the academic year.
In maths we have been working with money - totalling amounts and using coins and notes to make the same amount in different ways.
English lessons have continued to be focused around the book 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' and the children wrote some wonderful diary entries in role as Mr Grinling.
We have also complete a unit of artwork this work. We looked at the work of the artist Martin Bulyina and his tribal artwork then we used a colour wash and charcoals to create a similar piece.
In computing we have continued with Code Studio - building algorithms to make characters move in a particular way on screen.
This week VIP was awarded for 'Writing Champions'. This was given for the most progress throughout the year which went to Isaac and Zosia. Congratulations!
Next week is phonics screening check week in school for all Y1 children - good luck to them!
