Beech Class 08.05.26

Date: 6th May 2026 @ 10:47am

This week in Beech class has been fun making structures in DT! The children have loved learning about different ways to join materials then designing, making and evaluating a shelter / home for a Bog Baby.

They have thoroughly enjoyed the book - Bog Baby - making predictions from the clues given and then exploring the text in more detail. We sequenced the story, created noun phrases to describe the little Bog Baby and thought carefully about how he would have felt at different points in the story.

In maths we have continued with our topic of Fractions and explored unit and non-unit fractions using practical resources to support our understanding in this area.

In PE we have continued Jag Tag with Coach Olivia and also continued to practise our Sports Day events ready for the big day!

VIP this week was awarded for work in DT and this was given to Ellis. Well done!

It was also Miss Cunliffe's last day on Friday and we have really enjoyed having her working with us in Beech Class. We wish her all the very best for her future career in teaching!
