Beech Class 20.03.26

Date: 18th Mar 2026 @ 2:58pm

It's been another exciting week in Beech Class!

We started on Monday with an art day. The children created beautiful sketches of boats in the style of the artist JMW Turner. We explored the colour wheel discussing primary and secondary colours. Digital art was used to create another picture of a boat and the final piece of work was a wonderful weave to represent the Tempest.

The Tempest is our focus book in our English lessons this week and next and we have had lots of fun this week learning about all the characters and the relationships between them in the play. We had fun hot seating and getting into role as 'Prospero' and 'Miranda'.

In maths we have used concrete resources to support our learning in adding and subtracting two, 2-digit numbers.

VIP this week was awarded for art and this went to Tajo who took time to create a beautiful piece of weaving to represent the Tempest.

Next week we have lots more to look forward to... a visit to Moss Bank Library which  is now located next door to school! We also have Liverpool Museum coming into school to give a storytelling workshop all about the Titanic to our class. It is also the Easter bonnet competition so remember to bring your bonnets into school for judging on Wednesday.
