WELCOME TO OUR WEEK 5 BLOG!

Aspen class have begun our new class reader The Firework Maker’s Daughter. Over the next few weeks, we will be exploring the use of tone and pace when reading aloud.

Decimals  

We have enjoyed exploring tenths this week. Focusing on its position on the place value chart and what happens to 1 and 2 digit whole numbers when we divide by 10.

Science  

A great week for Science as we started out new unit of work on light and shadow, We have explored and identified light sources. We are also able to explain why the moon is not a light source and without the sun we would see the moon. We have spoken about sun safety and the created some very informative posters about how to keep ourselves safe in the sun. Next week, we will create an experiment using different materials to test how reflective they are.
