Birch: Autumn 2, Week 3
Date: 21st Nov 2025 @ 1:55pm
This week we have been busy looking at our new history topic. We are looking at changes in living memory, through our 'Memory Box' topic. We really enjoyed looking at each other’s baby pictures (thank you for sending these in) and talked about our date of birth. We then travelled through the decades, finding out that a decade is 10 years. We started to focus on the 60's, an era that some of our Grandparent’s might remember! We found out that school and toys where very different than they are today as there have been such big advanced in technology.
In English we have started a new story called 'Meerkat mail' and enjoyed learning about his adventures and reading his letters home.
In maths we have revisited our work on place value, thinking about how to estimate and compare numbers.
We ended our week with a lovely party on the playground to celebrate the fact that as a school we beat our target of 97% last week!
Next week we will be continuing our history work and will have a 60's themed afternoon, food tasting, watching cartoons from the past, playing games and learning some groovy dance moves.
