Birch Class Week 3 9.5.25

Date: 7th May 2025 @ 8:26pm

This week we have been completing lots of grammar activities in English. On Tuesday, we learned about homophones and on Wednesday we added the suffixes 'est' and 'er' to words and wrote sentences using words that contained these suffixes.

In Maths we have continued to practise adding and subtracting two two-digit numbers together with exchanging. We have used lots of practical equipment to help us to understand this objective.

In Geography, we have continued our work on maps, thinking about what things look like from up above (ariel views). We have also been learning how to name the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world (ask us to sing our songs!)

On Thursday we had a fun day at school. We all wore red, white and blue to celebrate VE day. We have created a fantastic poppy display outside of the hall and learnt about why we celebrate VE day. On Thursday afternoon we also made Union Jack flags!

On Friday we all enjoyed some kid’s choice time for our excellent class attendance score last week. On Wednesday green team also enjoyed a morning of games and fun on the field for being the house with the highest number of house points last half term!

Next week we will be doing lots of planting and growing as part of our science lessons and have an exciting art topic planned.
