Birch- Summer 2, Week 5

DT week has been very exciting this week. We started by researching toys that can move and then designed our very own moving vehicles. On Friday we painted our egg boxes and then created a moving vehicle in groups. It was great fun!

In Maths, the children have been working on their Fast Facts – quick number challenges involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These activities are helping to build their confidence and fluency with key number facts.

In English, we’ve been revisiting punctuation, focusing on when to use question marks and exclamation marks. We also explored how adding the prefix ‘un’ can change the meaning of words, such as turning happy into unhappy. Earlier in the week, we started reading our exciting new book, 'Toys in Space'. The children loved this and we are looking forward to seeing where the story takes us next!

Next week is transition week and we hope that all the children have a lots of fun in their new classes and look forward to hearing all about it when they return on Thursday!
