Birch Summer 2 Week 4
Date: 25th Jun 2025 @ 9:33pm
27/06/25
We’ve had a very busy and exciting week in Birch Class!
In P.E., we’ve been developing our ball skills, with a focus on dribbling. The children did a fantastic job practising toe-taps and passing the ball from one foot to the other, and they enjoyed the challenge of dribbling in and out of cones that got increasingly smaller.
In English, we have been learning how to use subordinating conjunctions in our sentences. On Thursday we used all new grammar and vocabulary knowledge to plan and write a diary entry like Sammuel Pepes. We have remembered so much from our history topic. Next week will we start to read a new book called 'toys in space'
In Maths, we’ve been exploring halves and quarters, using shapes and amounts to understand how to divide things into equal parts. We have enjoyed working practically to share amounts with our friends.
In R.E., we have been learning about special places in different religions and discussing why these places are meaningful to different communities.
We ended our week today with our amazing, sponsored colour run. Thank you to everyone who came to watch and collected sponsorship money. Look out for photos on our school Facebook page!
Next week we will be continuing with our new science topic where we are finding our why it is warmer in summer than in winter. We will also be completing our DT project where we will be making a moving vehicle. For our DT project each child needs 1 egg box, please try to send one to school at the beginning of the week if you can.
