Birch Week 1- Summer 2

Welcome back to our final term of the year!

We have a busy half term planned with lots of fun events happening across school, including our sponsored colour run, awards assemblies and Carr Mill festival (keep your eyes out on school spider for more information in the upcoming weeks).

We returned to school to find that the bulbs that we planted before half term have continued to grow- our seeds have not been as successful, but we will continue to water them.

This week we have started a history topic all about the Great Fire of London. We are learning about why the fire was so disastrous and the impact it has had on life today.

We have continued our PE lessons with coach Olivia on a Thursday and on Wednesdays are looking at 'striking and fielding' skills.

In Computing we have revised our work on E-safety. We have been looking at the ‘pause, breathe, finish up’ technique which gives us time to think and make a plan (tell and adult) when we see something unfamiliar online.

Maths has been challenging for some of us this week. We have been learning to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes. This is a skill that takes practise to master, something that you could continue to look at home as well as in school.

Next week we will complete our history topic and start to use the IPADS to create some digital writing all about the Great Fire of London.
