Seedlings Week 4 28.11.25

Date: 26th Nov 2025 @ 3:29pm

We have had a lovely and busy week in Nursery! Our learning focus has been all about doctors, nurses, and the important jobs they do to help keep us healthy and safe. The children were very engaged when we read Ambulance! Ambulance! and they showed great curiosity as we talked about how doctors help people who are hurt or unwell.

Our doctors’ role-play area has been especially popular. The children confidently took on different roles—doctors, nurses, patients, and even receptionists! They enjoyed using bandages, stethoscopes, and clipboards to care for their “patients.” Many children practised mark-making by writing prescriptions, appointment notes, and patient forms. This has sparked lots of rich language, imaginative play, and teamwork as they worked together to decide what each patient needed.

In maths, we have continued developing our subitising skills by recognising small quantities of 1, 2, and 3 without counting. The children explored these numbers through games, dice activities, and spotting amounts in their environment. We also focused on correct number formation, learning how to write the number 2. The children practised using whiteboards, sand trays, and finger-tracing to help build muscle memory and confidence.

Overall, it has been a wonderful week full of learning, imagination, and play. We are so proud of how curious, caring, and enthusiastic the children have been!
