Sycamore: Summer 2 Week 5

Another great week for Sycamore!

English
This week, we have been deepening our reading and comprehension skills as well as our grammar!

Maths
In Maths, we have moved on to angles! We have been recapping our fab knowledge of acute, obtuse and right angles.

CHESTER TRIP!

This week, Sycamore, Willow and Aspen class all ventured to the Roman city of Chester! After a lovely coach trip, we arrived at the museum, where we were greeted by a REAL ROMAN GLADIATOR! We followed our new commander through the streets, now eqiupped with swords and soldiers, and gave members of the public a real surprise! Walking through the Roman gardens, we learnt about the different formations and the amazing team work Roman soliders demonstrated in battle. The highlight was certainly when our class was given the very rare opportunity to attack our teachers! Although, Miss McCahey and Miss Clough soon got their revenge...

Another quick march across the street found us in the ruins of Chester's Roman ampitheatre. We were very excited, especially after learning about gladiator battles in History. Before we knew it, we were watching our own gladiator fight! Well done to our brave volunteers.

After a much needed lunch break (being a gladiator is very tiring), we were given an exclusive tour of the museum!

We learnt all about Roman gods, soliders, gladiator battles, their food, and even Roman toilets!

We all had a very fun day!!
