This week in Oak class we have been reading The Egg which is all about a dragon.
We have loved learning about dragons.
In Maths we have been looking at representing numbers to 5.
We have made our very own DT slider pictures this week.

This week we have been reading the Pea and the Princess. We had fun reading about the story from the Pea's point of view.
In Maths we have been learning about zero and how important it is. We have sang songs counting down to zero and went on a number hunt.
In Geography we have created our own maps of our playground using Google Earth. We have also been singing about the 7 continents of the world.

What an amazing week!!!
We had a fantastic trip to Imagine That! We explored the science and water areas, completed tricky science experiments, acted out our experiences in the role play area, painted an actual car and most importantly we had lots of fun!!!
In Literacy this week we have been reading the Princess and the Pea.
In Maths it has been Money week in school. Thank you for the fantastic competition entries!

Happy New Year!!
This week we have been reading about Jack and the Beanstalk. We enjoyed role playing being the giant and saying 'Fe Fi Fo Fum'. We have started writing short sentences about Jack.
In Maths we have been creating and making our own ABABAB patterns.
We started our Geography work on Where we live - looking at the world and where we are in the world.
We also had lots of fun exploring the snow!

Merry Christmas!!!
What a fantastic week to finish for Christmas!
We have had our Christmas party, jumper day, Christmas dinner, In to Win prize and our Winning house point team celebrations.
We walked to the post box to send our letters to Santa too.

This week in Literacy we have been reading Meerkat Mail. We loved reading about Sunny and his adventures.
In Maths we have been working on one more.
In History we have continuing our learning about the 1960s and had a 1960s party. It was lots of fun!

This week we have been reading The Highway Rat! We recieved some cakes and a sorry note on Monday from the Rat.
In Maths, we have been finishing our work on 4 and 5.
In History this week we looked at baby pictures of ourselves and the 1960's. We had lots of fun looking at toys from the 1960's too. We loved watching a bit of Thunderbirds too!

This week in class we have been reading Major Glad Major Dizzy.
In Maths we have been deepening our understanding of the numbers four and five.
We have learning about the numerals to ten and have been using a story and song based programme called Ten Town.
This week has been our Antibullying Week and we have been talking about being kind. We have read stories and talked about how we can be kind during circle time. We also had an odd sock day to celebrate our differences.

This week we have learning to read the poem - Night sounds. We had lots of fun listening to what we can hear when we lie down and close our eyes.
In Maths we have been continuing with learning the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 in depth. We can subitise to 5 super quick now.
In Science we have had fun completing two experiments - one to help the 3 little pigs decide what to build their house out of and one where we helped humpty dumpty design some clothes to help to keep himself safe.

In Maths we have been learning about the numbers 123.
We have also been learning about Diwali which id the Festival of Lights.

This week in class we have been reading Monkey Puzzle. We have been learning how to write Mum and Dad using our phonic knowledge.
In Maths we have been learning about 1, 2 and 3. We went on a number hunt around the room.
In Art this week we have been practising colour mixing. It has been lots of fun.
Outside we had our own pumpkin patch - it was lots of fun!

We have been reading Traction Man and have been talking about how we can all be superheroes!

This week we have had lots of fun reading Rapunzel and have been building our own Rapunzel towers.

In Maths we have been making our own rules for sorting groups of objects.

This week we have been reading Star in the Jar and have made our own wishes for this year.
In Maths we have continued our sorting and Matching work.
In Science we have been looking at Materials and have been exploring them. We looked at different objects and decided what they were made of.
On Tuesday we invited parents in to come and watch us practice phonics. Thank you to everyone who came in.

We have writing and drawing Tiddler and making Tiddler pictures.
In Maths we have been looking at matching and sorting.
We started our Dough Disco and Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle programmes which the children loved.
We have started our RWI phonics lessons too.

This week we have read all about Charlie the Forefighter and what the role of a Firefighter is.
We finished our Great Fire of London topic with a much smaller Great Fire of Carr Mill. We burned our houses that we drew.
