Birch Class 17.04.26
Date: 19th Apr 2026 @ 11:07am
Birch Class have made a great start to the new half term.
We have started a new unit of work in Maths, focusing on position and direction. The children have been learning about how things move in different directions.
In English, we have begun exploring the book Seahorse: The Shyest Fish in the Sea, and the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning new facts about seahorses.
In Geography, we have started a new topic: Carr Mill or Tanzania. In this unit, the children have begun learning about the similarities and differences between Carr Mill and Tanzania. On Friday afternoon, we went for a local walk around our area, spotting human and physical features in the environment for our fieldwork activity.
In Computing this week, we have been coding using the program Code Studio, with a focus on learning about loops.
In PE lessons, we have been practising our events for Sports Day, as well as Jag Tag (American football) with Coach Olivia.
This week’s VIP winner in Birch Class was Keira, for always being ready to learn and for showing our school values. Well done!
