Birch Class 12.06.26
Date: 9th Jun 2026 @ 5:03pm
It has been another busy week in Birch Class!
In English, we have started a new text, Jack and the Baked Beanstalk. We began the week by making predictions about the story from a range of clues. The children have enjoyed listening to and sequencing the story and particularly liked the twist at the end.
In Maths, we have continued our learning about money. The children have enjoyed recognising coins and notes and have used their knowledge to solve a variety of money problems.
In History, we have started our exciting new topic, Great Explorers. The children enjoyed finding out about famous explorers from the past and discussing how their journeys helped us learn more about the world.
In PE with Coach Olivia, the children have been focusing on striking and fielding, exploring a range of different skills.
A huge well done to our Year 1 children for completing their Phonics Screening Check. They worked hard, showed great determination, and should be very proud of their efforts. Well done, everyone!
This week's VIP was awarded for Art and was presented to Eden. Well done!
