Birch Class 19.06.26

Date: 19th Jun 2026 @ 7:41am

Another superb week in Birch Class!

In English, we have continued reading our text, Jack and the Baked Beanstalk, and sequenced the story using images. The children have completed their Star Write, retelling the story, and used a wide range of vocabulary and punctuation in their writing.

In Maths, we have finished our topic on money, looking at different coins and notes and solving a range of money problems. We have now started our statistics unit, and this week we have focused on tally charts.

In History, we have continued our Great Explorers topic. The children enjoyed learning about different explorers and finding out lots of interesting facts about their lives and achievements.

On Thursday, we took part in a Road Safety Workshop delivered by the Road Safety Team from our local authority. The children learnt how to stay safe when travelling around our roads.

A huge well done to everyone in Birch Class for taking part in Sports Day. It was a fantastic day, and the children enjoyed participating and cheering on their teammates. We were especially proud of the excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship shown throughout the day.

The overall winning house across the whole school was the Red Team!

This week's VIP was awarded for PE and was presented to Hunter. Well done!
