Birch Class 24.04.26
Date: 24th Apr 2026 @ 4:01pm
Another fantastic week in Birch Class!
We have finished our unit on position and direction in Maths and have now moved on to learning about time. The children have enjoyed exploring o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.
In English, we have continued exploring facts about seahorses and have written a non-chronological report. The children have produced some fantastic writing, using headings and interesting vocabulary. They found many fascinating facts using a range of resources.
In Geography, we continued looking at Carr Mill on a map, labelling human and physical features in the environment. The children are becoming more confident in identifying and describing different features.
In PSHE this week, we have been learning about money and jobs, discussing why people work and how money is used in everyday life. We also explored different ways we can earn and save for the future.
In PE lessons, we have been practising our events for Sports Day, with a focus on throwing small pieces of athletic equipment for distance. The children have been working hard to improve their technique.
This week’s VIP winner in Birch Class was James-Junior for showing great determination and effort in Maths. Well done!
