Birch Class - 27.03.26

Date: 27th Mar 2026 @ 5:22pm

It was another great week in Birch Class!

In Maths, we continued looking at subtraction with two-digit numbers, as well as weight and mass. The children have been practicing different strategies to solve calculations more efficiently, including using number lines and partitioning.

In English, we continued our topic on The Tempest and completed our final piece of writing. The children worked hard to develop their ideas, focusing on describing the characters and settings in detail. They also practiced using adventurous vocabulary and imaginative language to bring their writing to life, producing some truly brilliant work.

We had a visit from Liverpool Museum, who delivered a storytelling workshop all about the Titanic—it was fantastic! We also had the Easter Bonnet competition, and the children brought their bonnets into school.

Well done to River and Hope from Birch class and well done to everyone who took part.

In PE, we continued our unit of Introduction to Games. The children were able to put their skills into practice and work effectively in small groups, demonstrating passing, dribbling, and teamwork.

We finished the week with a visit to Moss Bank Library, which everyone really enjoyed.

This week’s VIP winner for in Birch Class was Denzel, for his outstanding digital book on The Tempest. Well done!
