Sycamore - Final week SPRING 2

Date: 26th Mar 2026 @ 11:54am

This week, in Maths, we are excited to be starting a brand-new topic: fractions. It’s always a fun topic with lots of practical activities, so we’re looking forward to seeing their confidence grow over the coming weeks.

In Writing, we are coming to the end of our “Star Write” based on Macbeth. The children have worked incredibly hard on this, using rich vocabulary and showing a great understanding of the characters and themes. It’s been fantastic to see their creativity shine through in their final pieces.

Alongside this, in both our reading and writing lessons, we have really been enjoying exploring the play Macbeth. The children have shown great enthusiasm when discussing the story, and it has sparked some thoughtful conversations and excellent ideas in their work.

In PSHE, we have been focusing on mental wellbeing. The children have been learning about the importance of looking after their minds, recognising their feelings and thinking about ways to stay positive and support one another. These have been some very meaningful and reflective sessions.

Today we had our Easter bonnet parade. All children who brought a bonnet in were given 10 house points in Sycamore Class. There were some outstanding creations - thank you to everyone who took part in the competition.

The winner in Sycamore Class was Alexia and the runner up was Berlin. Congratulations!

VIP this week was awarded for computing and the winner was Berlin too! Well done!
